No water. Very few plants. It's a wonder that deserts have such vast, rich colors. Artist Alan Yarmark understands the desert's visual complexity better than most. He re-creates a beautiful Southwest scene on this stoneware platter. Starting with a raw piece of clay, he throws the plate and connected bowl on a potter's wheel. Then he adds vibrant layers of browns, blues, and a rainbow in between. The result is this striking abstract scene that adds a touch of artfulness to your dinner party spread. Send the unique piece to a western fanatic or your favorite party host who has an eye for dazzling design. Handmade in Villa Grove, Colorado.

Due to the handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.

Made in Colorado

Pottery has been Alan Yarmark’s passion for over thirty years. The Sangre de Cristo mountain scenery that surrounds his Colorado home inspires him to capture the natural beauty of the landscape in his pottery. Not content to represent nature through layers of glazes alone, he combines a form of printmaking with hand-built stoneware to create a more naturalistic effect in his work.

The colors in this chip & dip platter are so brilliant and pretty. It's size is a nice alternative to a large platter - it's lighter and easy to take along to someone else's party when I'm contributing an appetizer.
