Sands Of Time

Place this magical beauty on a bookshelf, desk, mantel, or coffee table, rotate the glass ring, and watch as delicate drifts of light, dark, and glittery golden sand shift into deserts, mountains, clouds, rain, oceans and smoke, all ebbing and flowing into one another.

UncommonGoods placed our first order of Klaus Bosch’s sand art on January 10, 2008, and it's been beloved by our customers ever since. Here’s what some of them have said about it:
“A beautiful piece of art that morphs every time you flip it over. The sand flows beautifully and makes a different design every time it falls.”
“It's so easy to get lost in the ever-changing artistic formations of the Deep Sea Sand Art; as a brief escape from the day's turmoil or a means of peaceful reflection.” “My parents are so thrilled by it that they send me pictures every day to show me how it looks.”
“I would recommend this as a great gift for someone that has everything. I’m thinking of purchasing another one for myself.”
“This is the coolest most mesmerizing desk top gift ever.”

I live in Canada and wanted to send a gift to a male friend in San Francisco, CA. He's one of those "has-it-all" people so it was a real challenge finding something for him.

I had it delivered to his office and the response from him and everyone at the office was overwhelming! Someone from the office would send me a picture everyday of the unique designs they made with the sand. Everyone loved it!

It's a very different gift and is very tasteful. I myself haven't seen it, but it looks like it's well-made and is definitely quality value for the price. It has become my new "go-to" gift for anyone who is hard to shop for!

Does not work as advertised

The seam on the frame is mismatched. Product still doesn't work as advertised. It only makes dunes - not landscapes.

Comments about UncommonGoods Deep Sea Sand Art:

Purchased for the man who has everything, and not easily impressed. He has kept it on his desk for over a year now, and almost every day we look at it and comment "it's a good one today!" The scenes change each time, forming peaks, mountains, valleys, moonscapes, deserts. Completely peaceful and interesting to watch, and love that it still holds his interest after a year of watching it.

I did buy this product again and again

Comments about UncommonGoods Deep Sea Sand Art:

I bought this for my dad, and we spent all of Christmas morning just watching it... he then asked me to buy a second one so he can keep one at the office and one at home. He's into desk toys and geology and sand and other science-y stuff, so this was perfect, but I also enjoyed watching it more than I expected...

With the included syringe you can add/remove air, which determines how much and how quickly the sand falls, so there are infinite permutations, and the result is different every time you turn it over. Excellent concept, high quality, and it is beautiful, mesmerizing and surprisingly stimulating to watch.

Just the coolest thing EVER!!

Comments about UncommonGoods Deep Sea Sand Art:

All 3 of us in my family are just enthralled by this!
The designs made by the falling sand are really beautiful, but the 'top' is just as interesting to watch as the sand makes its way through the air bubbles.
Definitely an interesting & beautiful addition to your coffee table or desk.

Comments about UncommonGoods Deep Sea Sand Art:

We bought this gift for our boss for Christmas. It is for his desk. It was not the typical basket of fruit, cookies or steaks. I was trying to think outside of the box to get him something he could enjoy at work or at home.

Comments about UncommonGoods Deep Sea Sand Art:

This is an amazing piece of kinetic art, the circular frame holds a mix of colored sand, glitter, water and air. Simply turning it over produces a new pattern that that is visually identical to an exquisite line drawing of a mountain scene or beach dunes or a desert landscape, it is different every time. My favorites are the ones that resemble mountains.

This is a geat product for all ages

Comments about UncommonGoods Deep Sea Sand Art:

The gift was meant for a 14 year old, but his father seems to be more fascinated with it. When it goes missing, my grandson knows just where to find it. It is a very well made item, and I would recommend it to anyone. I like to buy unique gifts for my grandson, as he is very mature for his age, and sometimes I run out of ideas. Keep your catalog coming; I enjoy browsing it very much.
