One Sleek Cephalopod

If you like your decor with a dash of personality, you're in luck. This cheery glass sea creature sports eight arms, two eyes, and too many flecks of gold granilia to count, granting him a charming air and unique style. Perched atop a clear glass pedestal, he stands seven inches tall: the perfect size for a spot on your bookshelf, credenza, or even your desk, where he'll keep you company with his friendly gaze and long, elegant limbs. And unlike his real live inspiration, this version won't ever disappear in a puff of inkówe promise. Handmade by artisans in China.

Wow, really?

There's a LARGE chip on the bottom of this piece. The little company sticker was affixed directly ON TOP of the chip, and there's no chip of glass present in the packaging. Therefore, the item was already damaged when the sticker was placed there in an attempt to "hide" the chip like a band-aid. ...Really? I find this to be a rather unbecoming business practice. If something is defective you should either a) not sell it; or b) disclose the damage! Instead you put it on sale. I guess I'm supposed to feel like that's what I deserve for buying a disounted item? This was supposed to be a gift but I'm not giving someone a damaged product even if the damage is on the bottom side. Given that it's clear glass you can still see the chip; also, I can tell that the chip has compromised the rest of the piece structurally. This item too heavy and inconvenient to ship back and even if I did, the next one may well be damaged too because after all, it's "on sale". Very disappointing.
