Play the Hits

Dustin & Stephanie Headrick takes an upbeat approach to upcycling with this handcrafted guitar pick that is made from a retired cymbal. Each coin's distinctive raised grooves gives these picks an easy-to-grip texture, so they'll stay on hand regardless of the style you prefer to play. Metal guitar picks have been sought out by musicians for over a century because of their unique tonal qualities. They create a bright sound when strummed on acoustic instruments such as the guitar, ukulele, and mandolin. They can also entirely change the sound of an electric guitar by naturally reacting with the charged-up strings. Hand-honed in Nashville, Tennessee; appropriately nicknamed the "Music City."

Made in Tennessee

Nashville natives Stephanie and Dustin Headrick transform common cents into uncommon guitar picks. The couple started with a collection of silver quarters and half-dollars, but didn't really want to watch them sit around for 50 years and collect dust. It's well known with musicians that silver coin guitar picks have been around for a hundred years, but actually getting your hands on one is a rare thing. So, the savvy numismatists began hand-honing the coins into picks and immediately loved the tinny sound they produced. After gaining popularity at local craft fairs, they began experimenting with other materials: brass, bronze, copper, aluminum, hardwood, and even horn. To date, they've sold tens of thousands of handmade guitar picks to musicians all over the world, with many customers becoming avid collectors.

It came in the mail very fast. Left me with plenty of time to craft a wooden drum case to put it in. My father who is a drummer and a guitarist absolutely loved the combination of two of his favorite things. Would recommend this anyone that loves music.

Nashville Pick - Bronze Cymbal Pick This is the second time I purchased this item. The first one I had for a couple of years and I gave it to my daughter. I missed it so much I searched for another. Great Guitar pick, sounds bright on phosphor bronze strings.

The man I gave this to plays in a couple of bands- I was worried he might already have one or think it was gimmicky. He loved it! He loved the story about where and how it was made. He pulled his guitar out and tried it out immediately. Said it sounded "brighter." Great gift.
