compact official ballot art$100.00
- the story
Exclusively at UncommonGoods, these limited edition pieces of American art feature a cropped portion of the official ballot from the November 4, 2008 presidential election.
The oversized ballot, which this was taken from, was printed specifically for the old-fashioned, pull-lever voting machines used in New York City. These hulking gray machines have been in commission since 1962 and after 46 years of service, are slated to go into retirement this year. We are fortunate to have a limited number of these official, uncut, unused ballots.
Sections of the ballot feature voting instructions and a partial list of candidates from the Republican and Democratic party. Handsomely framed in black ash wood and protected by plexiglass, this is a piece of our collective history and a reminder that anything is possible in America. Made in the USA. Each framed print includes a certificate of authenticity.

Comments about COMPACT OFFICIAL BALLOT WALL ART:
I love this mostly because I have fond childhood memories of voting with my mother. Being a New Yorker I was sad to learn of the retirement of these boothes but extatic to be able to have both a souvenir and a piece of history.
Service and delivery comments:
When I ordered this they said it would not be shipped for a month, but I got it in 2 weeks! Yay! It arrived in perfect condition but was missing the certificate of authenticity. I emailed my concern and within the day someone responded and said I would receive the certificate in 8-10 days. I got it within a week. Yay again!
