This kit is very simple to use and the cheese is delicious. Making mozzarella takes a lot of time, but it's definitely worth it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes cheese and wants to try making their own!
Soaked some dried tomatoes, chopped them then added to the mix. Yummy
delivery on time I make the chees it was so good
This was a gift for my mother-in-law, who loves nothing more than cooking and entertaining. She was so excited when she got this- not many people take it upon themselves to hand-make cheese, even adventurous cooks like her, so this was perfect having everything she could need but the milk! It reminded her of her grandmother who used to make cheese from scratch.
This kit is a fun idea, but next time I will skip it and buy the rennet and citric acid separately. I found that the instructions for the mozzarella were rather fussy, and if the recipe fails, it is blamed on the milk. However, after reading that many others had successfully made mozzarella with store brand pasteurized milk, I knew it was possible. I found instructions online that were simpler, and called for double the rennet. I successfully made my first batch! The thermometer that comes with the kit is difficult to read and awkward to use while you're trying to deal with the milk on the stove. I don't intend to make ricotta, so the cheesecloth wasn't of much importance to me. I thought this would be a great gift idea, but I think it would be cheaper to buy the needed ingredients separately and provide more fool-proof instructions found elsewhere.
Purchased this as part of a Christmas gift form sister in law. It looks like so much fun I may keep it myself. Cant wait to try the cheese that comes from this kit.
This was so fun to use and easy! And I liked that I could use a high quality milk and not spend a ton on fresh cheese. The chesse was delicious!
My first try resulted in rubbery curds rather than a smooth silky cheese because I over stirred the custardy squares. Need to be super gentle and SLOWLY stir in a slow circle without disturbing them. My second batch worked great.

I enjoyed using this product. I support buying local, sustainability and organic foods. I am now able to make organic cheese at home using milk from local farmers and it's more affordable than buying it at the store. This is a great product and makes it simple to learn how to make your own cheese!

It's been a little frustrating finding milk that will work. It can't be ultra-pasturized. I've spent $20 on milk so far and have one batch cooling that looks like it will work. If giving as a gift to someone that would like to make it right away, it would be nice to include the gallon of milk. If you go on the company's website there is a list of brands of milk that appear to work. You need a gallon of whole, not ultra-pasturized.
