Vermont

Raised in rural Indiana, Beth Mueller now lives in Barre, Vermont, where she creates splendid hand-painted ceramic pieces.

Beth received a BA from Eckerd College. During here time there, she also worked at Studio Santa Reparata in Florence Italy, learning printmaking. Upon graduation, she served a two-year apprenticeship in the pottery studio of John Glick.

Her work is also influenced by the experience she gained before becoming a professional artist.

This road to becoming a full time studio artist included her work as a camp counselor, supervisor for a housing shelter, waitress, bartender and French teacher--not necessarily in that order.

She is inspired by capturing small snapshots of what she sees around her. "It all amazes me," she says. "All of these pieces relate in one way or another to some part of my life--a trip, a person--they are often little personal notes..."

Looks great on the counter, but will definitely require frequent emptying. Comes with a plastic insert which makes it even smaller. Using it with just the disoposal bags and no insert is better. All in all, pleased with the purchase.

Comments about Ceramic Countertop Compost Container:

Perfect size container to keep by the side of my sink to collect all my compost items. Keeps the smell inside and I am able to get up to a weeks use before I empty contents to my larger outdoor composter. A little pricey but I am still happy with my purchase.

Comments about Ceramic Countertop Compost Container:

I thought this product was an actual composter - it isn't, just a convenient way to collect compost inside the house, so you don't have to run out to the yard every day. Which makes this a convenient helpful tool - but not what it is described as. It is a bit over priced.

Comments about Ceramic Countertop Compost Container:

USed daily in my composter i also bought from Uncommon Goods. While we continue to use the composter container, really the container is way too small for those who cook dialy with fresh food. It fills up too fast. It should be bigger. But the addition of these bags are great adn make it easier to clean up. I just hope they actually compost.

Comments about Ceramic Countertop Compost Container:

THis container is quite attractive and contains any odors quite well. I find that the rough edge around the top is difficult to keep clean, and stains easily. It fills up very quickly which is good and bad; it must be emptied often which keepsthe countertop odors down.

Comments about Ceramic Countertop Compost Container:

We compost small amounts daily, so this container sits by the kitchen sink and gathers our composting for a few days. It is small (slightly larger than a square box of tissues) so it is best for tea bags or other smaller compostable goods. However, unlike many other indoor compost bins, this one is very attractive. The larger, unattractive bins might be more functional, but this one makes me happy while loading it up!
