A Desert Treasure

Much-loved in the high desert of New Mexico, the Century Plant isn"t just pretty to look at—it's also a symbol of starting fresh and continuing on. As the plant nears the end of its life, a tall yellow blossom sprouts, and the shoots replant themselves to keep the circle of life going strong. National Park ranger Hanna Hedstrom hand drew the hardy plant on this natural cotton pouch, which Jen Fox designs and sews, securing each with an antique brass zipper and a plant identification card. Just the right size for carrying essentials during your next adventure. Made in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

New Mexico

Jen is a commercial interior designer in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and also runs her own business, designing sewing patterns and fabric for handbags and accessories. Jen represents the third generation of female stitchery whizzes in her family. From her mother, grandmother, and great aunt, she absorbed, "one part precision and technique, one part resourcefulness, and two parts pure stubbornness and gusto." Jen's inspiration is sparked by her surroundings: clean lines in architecture, textures and patterns, Southwest sunsets, mountains, and deserts. When she's not designing the interior of a new building or sewing, Jen can be found hiking, biking, camping, and daydreaming.
