Buzz In

Provide a home to pollinators and pest controllers by sheltering nature's little do-gooders in this sweet bug house. Stacks of pine, plywood, and bamboo tubes become makeshift homes for special bugs whose natural behaviors benefit humans. Solitary bees, for instance, are excellent pollinators but have no hive to buzz back to, so they're less aggressive than the honey bee and they rarely sting. Ladybugs will hibernate here in the winter, and fly out during the spring and summer to feast on pests that wreak havoc on your plants. And while they make look threatening, earwigs are also welcome here since they use their distinctive pincers to rid your garden of destructive aphids. Plus, the slats at the motel's center are just the right size for lovely butterflies and lacewings to flutter in and out as they please. Made in China.

      Comments about UncommonGoods Bug Motel:

I purchased 2 of these. One for a sister in Northern California who feeds anything who comes into her back yard, and one for a sister who just moved to Hawaii and has a yard full of fruit trees. Both loved the gift and they just look gorgeous in their yards. Bright and cheery and such a cute design.

This was a Christmas gift so I am not sure how well it works but it is adorable and they loved the idea.

Bought this for a gift for my Dad who loves being outdoors and who loves taking care of the birds and animals that visit. This is a fun, unique gift!

                Comments about UncommonGoods Bug Motel:

This was a gift to be used in a small back yard box garden in San Fransico. The construction and paint finish makes the Bug Motel a very durable product to withstand the elements. It was the perfect gift to open in a group of 30 year olds that have gardens or have majored in entomology. Now everybody wants one.
