Steve Pudney's handsome bird feeder has a secret: its perfectly smooth, round body and narrow opening, crafted from a single piece of English Oak, make it virtually impossible for squirrels to nab the seeds inside. But small birds can easily enter and graze to their heart's content. The bottom half of the "apple" acts as a deep seed trough, and the slightly larger top as a shelter that helps protect seeds from the weather. Easy to fill using the feeder as a scoop, it can also be separated for cleaning by unscrewing the spindle (see photo). The burnished acrylic lacquer finish protects it outdoors, year-round. Sorry, squirrels. Handmade in Kent, UK.
