Wet Your Beak

The phrase "as the crow flies" sets your mind to stripping away all unnecessary details until you get down to the simplest truth. So it's appropriate that a bird was designer Markus Johansson's inspiration for this minimalist carafe. It reduces the bird's form down to geometric elements--a cone-shaped vessel and a spherical stopper. It's the tiny, beak-like stopper that catches your imagination and allows you to see the form for what it is. Appropriate for water by your bedside, juice with brunch, or dispensing your favorite, prized spirit. Made in China.

Markus is trained in furniture and product design at the KDK School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, Sweden and has since worked on various design projects for Swedish and international clients. From his office and showroom in central Gothenburg, he constantly creates new, exciting, pieces of furniture and products. Markus has taken part in a number of exhibitions all over the world, with his designs being shown in cities including Milan, New York, London and Stockholm.
