Bird feet are incredibly versatile: Great horned owls’ talons can grasp with the force of a full-grown German Shepherd’s bite. Mallard ducks’ webbed “toes” have no nerves or blood vessels, so they stay comfy swimming in icy water. The funnest fact? This set of six bird track putty stamps will keep kids entertained for hours.
Handcrafted by Suba Jagannathan’s and her team, the alder wood discs are coated in linseed oil, so they won’t stick to putty or dough as little ones march them along. The tracks left behind replicate different types of bird feet (for example, the owl’s are “grasping” and ducks have “swimming” feet). The set even includes illustrated cards explaining each type of tootsie and showing its bird owner. When kids aren’t stamping away, the cards and discs double as a matching game. Handmade in Vancouver, Washington.
