Glass From the Past
A childhood favorite grows up into a stylish accessory in Jeanne Kollecker's beautiful sterling silver necklace. Ensconced in the sterling silver bail is a one-of-a-kind marble that was collected by the artist along the shores of Lake Erie. It is said that marbles were used to balance the weight of ships, and when the vessels dropped anchor and delivered their cargo, barrels of marbles were dumped overboard. Today, these colorful glass balls wash up on shores all over the world. Like beach glass, the constant motion of the water tumbled the marbles smooth over time, leaving the glass orbs with a delicate, frosty finish. Combining treasures of the land and lake, this lovely necklace will add a splash of color and playfulness to your ensemble. Handmade in Ohio.
Meander over to our blog to read about the mysterious origins of these marbles, and how Jeanne Kollecker finds them and makes them into one-of-a-kind pendants.
Due to the recycled and handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.
