Dave Marcoullier finds inspiration in architect Daniel Burnham's advice: “Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men’s blood.” A certified arborist and landscape designer, much of his work is an extension of these two disciplines. In his CNC routed, solid hardwood wall hangings and cheese boards, he derives color variations and contrast by treating some areas with natural oil, while leaving other areas of wood untouched. As no two wood grains are the same, each and every piece is unique. Dave takes pride in selecting only the finest grains, and orienting color, direction, and striation to best compliment the context of the design.

    Comments about UncommonGoods Anatomy:

This is a beautiful product! I work in mental health and I always remind people that their depression/anxiety/etc is not just something that they feel, but a real chemical reaction in their brain. Its tangible, thus it is fixable. This is a beautiful way to display our most complex organ, and its a subtle reminder that we are complex beings but we can all be understood biologically/chemically as well.

This was a gift for a newly licensed neuropsychologist and it was perfect! Very well made. A perfect size for hanging on the wall in an office. The cutout of the brain was so incredibly accurate. It has a sophisticated and professional look.
