We took some time to chat with artist Stephanie Simek, whose crystallized sugar jewelry was added to our line-up of unique<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/jewelry-accessories?source=blog\"> jewelry<\/a> when you approved it through our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/voting\/product\/begin?source=blog\">community voting app<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/crystallized-sugar-necklace?source=blog\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/data.uncommongoods.com.edgesuite.net\/images\/newweb\/product\/20802_zoom1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nIn both her accessories line and art creations, Stephanie likes to, &#8220;push boundaries and play with and explore new materials.&#8221;\u00a0 Instead of creating jewelry from more common materials such as quartz crystal, Stephanie was inspired by the, &#8220;intricate facets of sugar crystals that are really unique and beautiful, and just as perfect as a precious stone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/\/2011\/sugar-spice\/studio1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6177\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6177\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/studio1-548x365.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"548\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/studio1-548x365.jpg 548w, https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/studio1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stephanie allows the natural raw beauty of the crystallized sugar to shine through her creations, and each <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/crystallized-sugar-necklace?source=blog\">necklace<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/crystallized-sugar-studs?source=blog\">pair of earrings<\/a> she makes in her studio is one-of-a-kind.\u00a0She chisels off pieces of crystallized sugar from a larger rock, then adheres the crystals with non-yellowing epoxy resin for protection.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/crystallized-sugar-studs?source=blog\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/data.uncommongoods.com.edgesuite.net\/images\/newweb\/product\/20803_zoom1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stephanie is constantly inspired by what is interesting, and she describes her new crystallized sugar jewelry as, &#8220;adventurous, playful, and have a sense of humor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Adventurous, playful and has a sense of humor.
