We sure have, so we set out to find a way to give you a piece of the most iconic classic cars, without having to break your bank. Here&#8217;s the story behind our vintage <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/vintage-mustang-key-ring?source=blog_howto\">Mustang<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/vintage-thunderbird-key-ring?source=blog_howto\">Thunderbird<\/a> key rings.<\/p>\n<p>We decided upon two favorite vintage autos: the first generation Ford Mustang (1964-1973) and the third generation Ford Thunderbird (1961 \u2013 1963).<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/\/2010\/hit-the-road-in-style-with-vintage-key-rings\/1_1969_mustang_mach_1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3869\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3869\" title=\"1_1969_Mustang_Mach_1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/1_1969_Mustang_Mach_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"239\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/\/2010\/hit-the-road-in-style-with-vintage-key-rings\/2_1962_thunderbird\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3870\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3870\" title=\"2_1962_Thunderbird\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/2_1962_Thunderbird.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"239\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then we scoured the eastern US for authentic parts, such as this section of a 1969 Mustang truck lid, pictured below. The red disc is cut from the 1969 Mustang trunk lid pictured earlier.<\/p>\n<p>After many iterations, we arrived at our final products: sterling silver steering wheels which proudly display a piece of your very own classic car.
