(On the other hand, he&#8217;s had plenty of time to make a lasting impression!) According to <a title=\"What Shakespeare Could've Been | Mental_Floss\" href=\"http:\/\/mentalfloss.com\/article\/51369\/bad-quartos-what-shakespeare-could%E2%80%99ve-been\" target=\"_blank\">Bad Quartos: What Shakespeare Could&#8217;ve Been<\/a>, the line appeared as \u201cTo be or not to be. Aye, there\u2019s the point. To die, to sleep\u2014is that all? Aye, all.\u201d in an edition that was available between 1603 and 1604. The cause of this lesser known soliloquy? Piracy! Bootlegged copies of Shakespeare&#8217;s plays made their way into bookstores after shady playgoers copied down what they could remember and then printed their knockoff versions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>2.) &#8220;Sweets to the Sweet&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This one comes from <em>Hamlet<\/em> as well, but how could we resist using this perfect quote on our <a title=\"Treat Bag\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/printable-party-kit-shakespearean-soiree?source=blog_shakespearekit\" target=\"_blank\">treat bag<\/a>? We learned from <a title=\"7 Geeky-Cool Translations of Hamlet\" href=\"http:\/\/mentalfloss.com\/article\/49283\/7-geeky-cool-translations-hamlet\" target=\"_blank\">7 Geeky-Cool Translations of Hamlet<\/a> that <em>Hamlet <\/em>has been translated into hundreds of languages. It&#8217;s no surprise that such a famous play has been so widely translated, but we were surprised (and oh so pleased) to see it translated into Klingon, Emoji, and even a Lego animation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong> 3.) &#8220;Out, damned spot! Out, I say!&#8221;\u009d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Our <a title=\"Pin the Spot | UncommonGoods\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/printable-party-kit-shakespearean-soiree?source=blog_shakespearekit\" target=\"_blank\">Pin the Soap on Lady Macbeth<\/a> game is definitely less gruesome than The Scottish Play, but fans of the tragedy will recall that that murder and mayhem run rampant through the <em>Macbeth<\/em>. Lady Macbeth is riddled with guilt and attempts to scrub clean a blood stain that isn&#8217;t actually there. This is pretty dark stuff, but there is a bright side. The article <a title=\"Out, Damned Spot!\" href=\"http:\/\/mentalfloss.com\/article\/24722\/out-damned-spot\" target=\"_blank\">Out, Damned Spot!<\/a> explains the <a title=\"Macbeth effect\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/content\/328\/5979\/709.abstract\" target=\"_blank\">Macbeth effect <\/a>, &#8220;a psychological phenomena where cleanliness lessens guilty feelings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/printable-party-kit-shakespearean-soiree?source=blog_shakespearekit\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-36331\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/game_props.jpg\" alt=\"Macbeth | UncommonGoods\" width=\"620\" height=\"620\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong> 4.) Titania and Oberon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Titania and Oberon are perhaps best known as the King and Queen of the Fairies in <em>A Midsummer Night&#8217;s Dream<\/em>, the comedy featured in our &#8220;playbill&#8221; <a title=\"Guest Book\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/printable-party-kit-shakespearean-soiree?source=blog_shakespearekit\" target=\"_blank\">guest book<\/a>. Although this list of <a title=\"12 Distant Places in the Solar System | Mental_Floss\" href=\"http:\/\/mentalfloss.com\/article\/61203\/12-distant-places-solar-system-and-what-theyre-named-after\" target=\"_blank\">12 Distant Places in the Solar System (And What They&#8217;re Named After)<\/a> isn&#8217;t specifically about famous fictional couple, it does feature their celestial namesakes. Titania and Oberon are also moons of Uranus. Not only are all of Uranus&#8217; moons traditionally named for characters created by Shakespeare or <a title=\"Alexander Pope\" href=\"http:\/\/www.britannica.com\/EBchecked\/topic\/470015\/Alexander-Pope\" target=\"_blank\">Alexander Pope<\/a>, their geographical features are also named for people and places in Shakespeare&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>5.)<\/strong> <strong>Who Will Be Named King?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The crown we chose for our <a title=\"Party Hats | UncommonGoods\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uncommongoods.com\/product\/printable-party-kit-shakespearean-soiree?source=blog_shakespearekit\" target=\"_blank\">party hats<\/a> was based on <em>King Lear<\/em>, and while a specific Mental_Floss post didn&#8217;t point us to the design, we were happy to learn from <a title=\"13 Titles Inspired by Shakespeare Phrases\" href=\"http:\/\/mentalfloss.com\/article\/61142\/13-titles-inspired-shakespeare-phrases\" target=\"_blank\">13 Titles Inspired by Shakespeare Phrases<\/a> that a line from the play indirectly influenced the title of <em>The Dark Tower<\/em> series by Stephen King.
