PRODUCT STORY
Jake says: My design is wheel thrown and textured with hand tools.

I first got started in ceramics in high school because it was an easy "A". I have never really had any formal training in ceramics. The high school teacher pretty much let me do what ever I wanted. I started out making regular bowls and that was fun, but then I realized I could make two bowls in one (a chip and dip kind of thing). After that I kept trying to add more and more layers and tiers to my wheel thrown "bowls". I also got interested in texturing with hand tools and making cool patterns that the glaze could sink into.

I was lucky enough to acquire my own wheel and kiln after high school and continued to explore the multi tiered hand textured designs. Sometimes I would not touch clay for years at a time, but it was always calling to me in the back of my mind. About 2-3 years ago I discovered Etsy. With hope from seeing other artists being successful at what they love and a cheap and easy way to get my art out into the world, I decided to get serious about clay again. I knew I had something unique.

The colors and textures of Jake's Jar really stood out to us, and we love that it's two bowls in one. Does this piece have your vote?

You're clearly a skilled potter. This is a beautiful piece, but it's not something I'd buy.
