Nikki says: I primarily use traditional metalsmithing techniques such as forming, hammering, and soldering. I finish pieces using oxidation and polishing.
My ideas stem from connections, and a lot of my ideas shape as I use the materials and processes I have learned. I somewhat let the tools and metal transform my ideas instead of having something planned out perfectly. From there I tend to work in groups or series using repetition and variation as my guide. I am inspired by natural and man made systems, connections, geometry, architecture, design, and pattern. I strive to create pieces that are bold yet subtle and can be worn everyday or as a statement piece. I think it is important for the wearer to feel confident while wearing a unique piece of jewelry that is modern and sometimes one of a kind.
