Alisa says: My vision for the concept of my Unity Necklace is inspired by the fusion of two symbols: the hourglass and the yin and the yang.

The hourglass, or sand clock, is believed to have been invented sometime between the eighth and fourteenth centuries and is considered to represent the embodiment of a timeless loop. As one watches the sand run from one vessel through to the other, one might imagine a never-ending cycle, as the clock is flipped from top to bottom, over and over again. The sand clock has captured the imagination of scientists, poets, and artists throughout recorded history.

The yin and yang symbolize the marriage of seemingly opposite forces, such as light and dark, hot and cold, male and female. Taoism and Eastern Philosophy teach us that such opposing forces actually act to compliment one another, creating a greater and more powerful dynamic system, which may be found among various elements within our universe.

Alisa's necklace celebrates the fusion of two symbols, and two metals, to represent unity. Does her design have your vote?

I understand the story and think it's a great concept; however, I do not like the design of the jewelry. If I was wearing this, I do not think people would understand the concept of the necklace. In addition, I think the necklace looks of poor quality. I would like to see a better necklace design with better detail.
