PRODUCT STORY
Hope says: My mission is to create things that are beautiful, functional and fun while doing my fair share to save the planet!

I developed my own hardening solution. It worked great and I had several offers to buy the bowl. In 2005 Vessel Vixen was born.

My process is that I soak the material in my hardening solution until it becomes pliable, then I hand shape it before it hardens. After lots of sanding, each piece is coated with a soy based lacquer for a glass like appearance.

I've combined my love of creating with my passion for recycling.

I love, love, love this vase! I am concerned about what kinds of chemicals are used in the hardening process, though....

Cassandra: My hardening solution is non-toxic. Nothing harmful for flowers, plants or pets...should the cat get a hold of it! FYI...the fabrics I use are scraps collected from local uhpolstery shops.

Like this - I am "over" putting every plant I own in a basket. This is a nice alternative.

Awesome idea and the execution looks great. Paisley isn't my style but I'm assuming you would have different fabrics. If you had a pattern I liked, I would definitely buy this for my home.

Awesome Ingenuity. Would the soy lacquer constantly getting water on it every few days and/or the humidity from the wet soil weaken it in any way? If not, great job!! : )

Dawn, I bought a vase years ago. The lacquer keeps it smooth and shiny. Towel for dust. The piece always draws attention. I love it a real winner.

Love this idea! It's unique, I haven't seen anything like it! Would be cool if people could send their own fabric to have made into a personalized planter!

Beautiful piece ..... As an orchid grower I would use these in a second if drainage holes are incorporated into the piece.

Dawn, it's very easy to clean. Just swish a little water around in it to loosen dirt, then hand wash in soapy water. Or use glass cleaner and towel dry.
