Beverly says: Being an artist who likes to garden and hike can be distracting. While working in my garden or hiking the hills of southern California I get distracted by the nature's perfection of design. A fascinating seedpod, leaf or flower must be admired, studied and if possible collected. A long time ago I realized I could never make anything as wonderful as nature has, so why not copy her. I have created hundreds of small ceramic molds of leaves, acorns and other botanicals that I have found. I press these into my clay as I am building a pot and create texture with them. They have allowed me to catalog my love of the natural world, and to combine it with my sense of design.
