Cat says: I have an upcycled and sustainable design studio at the Jersey Shore called Olive Bites where I make really cool new stuff out of really cool old stuff. I was lucky enough to locate during a dumpster dive (AKA flea market) a HUGE supply of '70s metal macrame hoops - the kind artists made those amazing big-eyed owls with back in the day. I had already been experimenting with new ways to work with metal washers (an industrial material with a small carbon footprint since they are already being produced for so many useful purposes) and began to cut, grind and drill the hoops in halves to add the washer and vintage dictionary pages and create a little industrial necklace book that sways (I love jewelry with 'fidget' potential)!
