Multi-Color Rubber Band Lamp

PRODUCT STORY
This colorful, artisan-made lamp has both a playful vibe and an old soul. Instantly evoking childhood fun with rubber band balls, it also draws inspiration from ōllamaliztli—an ancient game from Central America, where Mayans used a ball wrapped in naturally elastic vines. Making this modern update, however, is far more technically and artistically intensive. The milky white globe is made from mouth-blown glass, and the vibrant rubber bands are custom formed for the lamp. Place it on a desk, bookshelf or accent table, and let its ambient glow draw your gaze and lighten your spirit. The base is fitted with spring-mounted lighting hardware, with a toggle on/off switch. 11w bulb included. Light made in China; elastic bands and assembly in USA.

This colorful lamp combines a fun vintage throwback, the rubber band ball, with high design. It's no stretch, since the mouth blown glass and custom-formed elastic bands create an eye catching piece. Could you see this lamp in your home or office?

Definitely cute for the office, depending on the price point.

It would be cool to have some alternatives for colors---perhaps a lamp made with cool colors like blue, green, and purple.

I could make something similar to this for a lot less than this would cost to buy. It's cute, just not something I'd spend a lot of money on when I can make something very similar.

I'm seeing a lot of "made in China" notations on your products, and I am disappointed by that. Also, rubber bands are latex. The exposure to latex is cumulative...the more of this stuff we put in our environment, the more likely we will develop sensitivities to it. I'd like this idea more if it were (1) made in the USA, and (2) made of ceramic materials.

I've never met a rubber band that lasts more than a year. Once the colors have gone then what's left? Still too much made in China.

I love the look of this lamp. However, the description doesn't state if the bands are fire resistant.

Not my style. Would like more sophistication for "ambience lighting" which this is.
