Kathleen Plate has astounded us again, turning recycled glass bottles into delicate necklaces. Would you add these brass accessories to your fall wardrobe?

Very nice. Simple, but not too simple. Neat. I do with that there were pictures of these pieces on people, though, to see how they actually look on someone.

Hi Virginia, thanks for your perspective. What I find amazing about Kathleen's designs is her work in glass-- she forms new shapes and patterns out of old glass bottles. What type of jewelry do you make?

Beautiful but I agree that the mark-up is too high for brass. I would definitely wear this, though!

Story says they are brass but the chains look very silver and I don't wear silver. But if they appeared as brass I'd like them.

I like the design but I have issues with metals so it wouldn't be something that I would by for me.

I would wear this, but I agree with everyone who said the price is too high. I would pay around $30 tops.

Lovely design, but I don't like the thought of brass...sterling silver, perhaps?

Thanks for the feedback! We're glad to see the comments coming in for this bold brass necklace. We just want to jump in and address a few of the comments regarding the item price. This necklace is handmade by artist Kathleen Plate. She uses glassworking techniques to turn recycled bottles into beautiful jewelry creations. The price reflects not only the quality of the materials used, but also the time and effort Kathleen puts into each of these handmade necklaces.

this is cute, but I wouldn't pay more than $25 or $30. It's brass, not sterling.

I appreciate the simplicity but one can buy glass beads much like those pictured and make many necklaces for a fraction of the price here.

the price is a tiny bit steep but i really like the uniqueness and the ability to say it's handmade if people ask... i would pay probably 55 for something like this though.. oh well.
