I'd like it even more if it was brown, old-fashined twiney rope, like the rope on a wagon.

It is a neat idea, but I agree with others that it is too pricey and would look better if the rope wasn't white, but more vintage looking.

Hi, smarte; thanks for the comment! This product is a holder to display a bottle of wine. A piece of metal is hidden inside of the rope, making it appear that the rope itself is supporting the bottle. The holder can be used as decoration in your home, as a centerpiece when entertaining, or as a fun way to present a bottle of wine as a gift.

this is so rediculous, it makes me think I should come up with an idea to sell a normal item......would need to see how it works in a video before I could be impressed

I am not sure where you would use this (on a yacht, perhaps?) or what is interesting about it other than the fact that rope is not supposed to have form and structure. I think it's just a little odd.

It might make a cute conversation piece if you had plentry of room for it. At $30, I would not buy it.

Anyone can make one of these at home with the rope sold at almost any lumber yard or hardware store. Why pay $30 when you can make one yourself for about $2.00?

Might be a neat trick...but only the first time you use it. And who "stores" wine they're currently drinking at dinner on the side? I'd rather have a cool wine bucket/chiller.

Thanks for all of your questions and comments! A few voters have asked how this holder is different from an ordinary piece of rope, so we just want to provide a few more details. Inside of the rope is a metal frame which actually supports the bottle of wine--making it appear like the bottle is floating and pulling up the rope, or like the rope is supporting the wine (holding it almost 10 inches from the surface)depending how you think about it. To see another view of the holder, please click on the front view image under the main image to the left.

Thanks for your feedback, everyone! We're glad our community is intrigued by this fun wine holder so far. The buyer who submitted this item, Josh, actually gave the product a test run in our office by setting it up on a desk in a high-traffic area. The holder is sturdy, as long as it is sitting on a flat surface. There's still a few days left to vote, and we can't wait to see whether this item is our next new good!
