- the story
How Dry I Am
You've probably heard of the Slow Food movement, or even Slow Living. But designer Carol Bildahl wants to add Slow Laundry to that list.
To that end, she has created this handsome, suspended clothes drying rack, modeled after the one her grandma used to have hanging in her kitchen. Rather than being made from the cheapest materials, it's handcrafted from handsome, sustainable blue pine, and meant to last a lifetime. It hangs from a retractable pulley system, so that it adds function to your home without demanding additional floor space. And perhaps best of all, air drying your clothes requires no additional energy, adds no chemicals to the environment, and saves you money by prolonging the life of your clothing. Handmade in Montana.
Unfortunately, this item cannot ship outside of the United States at this time.

- the maker
Carol Bildahl had the original idea and design concept, but had a product designer help her kick it into action. Here's how the story goes...Carol, living a nice life in Montana, knew her Granny in Ireland had a nice wooden drying rack.
Carol got one and decided it needed to be modernized and made in the USA from sustainable timber found in Montana. Thus, WOODI was born...harvested and made from Blue Pine Timber, a by-product of the Rocky Mountain Pine Beetle

Comments about WOODI CLOTHESLINE DRYING RACK:
My daughter was a Nanny in Switzerland for 2 years and she said most families in Europe air dried their laundry as the cost is prohibitive and they think "green" more than most Americans.
She bought this for us to go over my washer/dryer in my tiny laundry room - more like a closet and I LOVE it! I lower it to load clothes I don't want dried in the dryer, hoist it up to the top of room and it dries so fast! All the heat in the house rises so it's much faster than a drying rack on the floor. And it's fun!
