How many trees were slaughtered forthis vanity item? Most quality dress shirts aare already packaged with at least one extra collar stay, but why would a woman buyer know this?

Stays are often accidentally put through the laundry. Other materials hold up to laundering, but I think wooden ones would be ruined by it. I also wonder whether they would snap if bent.
