Poetry For Your Peonies

Although they'll also require water and plenty of sunlight as nourishment, fresh-cut blooms placed inside of this textured ceramic vase are also brought to life by a short poem that describes the magical, mercurial power of wishes. The poem itself wraps around the cylindrical body of the white glazed vessel in handwritten script that's punctuated with flecks of color. Whether gracing a tabletop, windowsill, or entryway table, a flower-filled Wish Vase brings good vibes and a touch of color to the home in equal measure.

The poem reads:
"A wish peace deep rooted grounded peace. Joy bubbling effervescent sizzling and fizzling. A wish luck the good fortune of life falling into place with ease to please. A wish healing and feeling the seen and unseen courage to face and embrace the all of things. Love. A wish beautiful moments of moments and gratitude knowing flowing. A wish hope to be and see the new day is we. A wish."

Each red clay vase is hand-thrown and painted by Eric Hendrick and Noelle Van Hendrick at the couple's Vermont studio that's partially powered by generators that run off of renewable methane from cow manure. Handmade in Vermont.

Eric Hendrick and Noelle VanHendrick

As newlyweds, Eric and Noelle decided to pursue their artistic passion, and put all of their gift money toward buying red clay for their handmade creations. Unfortunately, the clay they received didn't perform like it was supposed to. "It was bad," says Noelle. "We couldn't attach spouts or handles, and glazes wouldn't stick! We were bummed."
