Pour Your Heart Into It

Don't keep your inner sommelier all bottled up! Pair this petite and practical wine diary and pen with any bottle, glass, goblet, or flute to drink in every last detail long after you've finished the final drop. Designed to be stowed in your purse, bag, or pocket, this streamlined pen and notebook pack a high-design punch and possess an extra special edge: crushed grapes or a few drops of red wine impart the notebook's ink and the pen's resin with its characteristic deep, ruddy hue.

Swirl, sniff, sip, and fill in the essentials, a rating out of 5 stars, and the color out of a range covering deep reds, blushing zinfandels, and crystalline whites. A flavor wheel helps you identify nose, balance, body, flavor notes, and more. Once filled, this handy journal holds every ounce of detail from your 33 most recent tastings and serves as an invaluable reference for both connoisseurs and casual sippers.

Pen handmade with resin tinted and textured with crushed grapes harvested by Merrie Buchsbaum in Connecticut. Notebook made out of 100% recycled paper and printed using U.S.-grown soy-based inks in Portland, Oregon. (The wine-colored ink on the cover contains a few drops of 2010 Pinot Noir from Amity, Oregon.)

Exclusively at UncommonGoods.

Merrie Buchsbaum & Dave Selden

Artist Merrie Buchsbaum and bookmaker Dave Selden's pen and book sets were inspired by life's little luxuries--wine, coffee, beer, whiskey, and even cheese. Merrie makes her pens by hand in Connecticut with resin tinted and textured with a special blend of natural dyes and authentic dried and ground ingredients. Dave's notebooks are made out of 100% recycled paper and printed using U.S.-grown soy-based inks in Portland, Oregon. The colored inks printed on the covers contain a bit of each respective book's thematic ingredient.

After taking two wine tasting classes at RIT, my daughter has become very aware of the characteristics of each wine she tastes. These pocket size books are the perfect place to record and recall which varietals, vineyards, vintages she prefers and why.

Comments about WINE TASTING NOTEBOOK AND PEN SET:

I loved the concept but was so disappointed when it arrived. It was small, not good quality and for the cost I expected at least a leather cover. It was a gift for someone who collects fine wines and thought he would appreciate this.I am seriously considering returning it. Sorry.
