The Be All End Table

No, you're not playing Tetris -- this elegant end table by rising designer Caleb Zipperer just reimagines the classic game as a well-formed piece of functional art. Zipperer, who made the leap from deliveryman to all-star woodworker by combining his passion for high design with memories of his childhood in Savannah, based this table on the "jagged," pixelated entertainment that defined his childhood. It's both a sturdy table and a reliable conversation piece fit to balance out any modern living or family room. Made in Brooklyn, New York of solid quartered white oak with a hand-rubbed finish.

Caleb Zipperer

Caleb Zipperer is a furniture designer and engineer who has lived and worked in Brooklyn for many years. After apprenticing for a number of different designers and working as a bike messenger, Zipperer opened his own studio in 2010. Since then, his pieces have been exhibited at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair and BKLYN DESIGNS. They have also been featured in various publications including Dwell, Surface, New York Magazine, Apartment Therapy, and Core 77. Zipperer attended the Savannah College of Art & Design, and received a degree in industrial design in 2002. He is influenced by ephemera from his childhood, including the pixelated video games he used to play with his brother and cousins, as well as the easy lounging chairs that littered the porches of his Southern hometown. But he is primarily concerned with making objects that are extremely well made. Each of his pieces is both conceived and constructed by Zipperer in his own Williamsburg Brooklyn studio. collection
