Glass From The Past

Luminous and tactile, these ravishing clusters of recycled glass are handmade by artist Laura Bergman from the crushed remains of antique beer, soda and dairy bottles (multi-colored) and Mason jars (blue) dating between 1900 and 1960. Scouring the rural woodlands of Pennsylvania Amish Country to collect stray bottles posing an environmental hazard to local wildlife, Bergman carefully cleans and fuses artful morsels into light-catching drops that preserve the original ruby, green, navy and amber-tinted glass. To create the crisp, blue pendants, Bergman uses 1940s-era Mason Jars exclusively. Each set fuses a beautiful moment in time from the early decades of the historic 20th century.

Dime-sized lightweight glass pendants hang on shapely sterling silver hooks. Includes an item-specific story detailing the age and origin of the glass used. Handmade of recycled glass and sterling silver in the USA. Each pair sold separately.
