Go the Distance

For a distance runner, a marathon isn't just a sport. It's a commitment. A way of life, where simply completing the race is a triumph. This sophisticated pendant is a way for you to honor that passion for physical achievement.

Two silver-plated discs are suspended back to back from a smoky gray cord. For the larger one, a special process is used to transfer a black and white photographic image directly onto the metal. The smaller disk is printed with the number 26.2 (the length in miles of a marathon) OR 13.1 (a half-marathon). Both are then given a thin layer of resin, which protects the graphic while giving them a sense of visual depth. Nylon cord has sterling silver clasp. Handmade in New Mexico.

Exclusively at UncommonGoods.

Jeff Ryan

Artist Jeff Ryan spent 15 years as a master printer, creating limited edition works of fine art produced in collaboration with photo-conceptual artists.

But in 1998, Jeff and his wife Barbara Edelman (along with their daughter and collection of dogs) abandoned city life to establish themselves and their workshop on several dusty high desert acres in Santa Fe. Their goal is to create museum quality objects that celebrate everyday life - its traditions, milestones and poetry.

Barbara and Jeff continue to develop new creations that combine fine art techniques with everyday materials for everyday use.
