two black beads and sterling silver necklaceby E. Andrea Shiman
- the story
Inspired by a planet and moon joined in orbit, E. Andrea Shiman created this beautiful necklace. Two hand-smithed silver domes nestle onto a large and small black onyx bead. When pulled apart and then joined along the sterling silver chain, they create a gentle tinkling noise, highlighting the ethereal appeal of this intriguing design. Handmade in New York.

E. Andrea Shiman
After a number of years in the software industry, E. Andrea Shiman started studying jewelry-making five years ago and immediately knew that she had found her life's passion. She dove right in and from the start she worked constantly to develop both her ideas and also her metal-working and gem-setting skills. Eventually, she started making jewelry for family and friends. Her earlier studies in architecture gave her an understanding of geometry and structure. Her work is both organic and abstract. Many of her designs are evocative of growing things, without being strict representations, and she also uses simple geometric forms like circles and lines to construct lively, wearable adornment.
