Brenda Griffith
Born and raised in Montana, Brenda Griffith forged a style based on the design elements of geometric terraces laced by natural flourish based on nearby Glacier Park. This shows through her stained, fused and slumped glass pieces. Next she lived in Chicago, which infused her work with a strong Art Nouveau influence.
"I apprenticed with a stained glass artist for two years starting in 1985," she recalls. "During my tenure with her I was introduced to glass fusing and slumping and that, as they say, was all she wrote." Stained glass requires hard work, vision, technique and skill, and in the case of glass fusing, a little luck to get the piece just right. See all creations.

Cute! Do you get to pick the color glass you want?
Julia, Community Organizer
Hi Kat! Right now, the yellow glass is the only color available. Which colors would you want to see?

Even if handmade, price is too high. We have a local artist who does similar pieces for around $6

@Julia, Community Organizer - I'm not a big fan of yellow, so maybe blue?

This would be a great "under $20" Xmas gift! Nice that it's made in USA. I would put one in my window or garden as a suncatcher!

Unless a kid made this, it's not really unique or amazing. However, if the artist could make many, and sell at a lower price, that would be more sellable. As it is, it looks like it takes 5 minutes to make.
Kimberly
would love to see the price closer to $10 --- but LOVE it!

What?

Is that a paperclip?
Cassie, UncommonGoods Community Moderator
Thanks for the question! This star is not made from a paperclip. It is hand-twisted using aluminum and holds a colorful piece of glass in the center. The ornament is 7 inches long and 9 inches high at its largest points, so it is quite a bit bigger than your average paperclip.

I wouldn't pay $18 for this. But it is cute.

I would buy this in a pack of 3 for $18, especially if it came in a variety of colors.

Extremely cute idea. But I would never pay that much for it. Other artists make them for much more reasonable prices.

This style isn't new, it has been around for a few years and numerous other holiday decorations have incorporated it already

I could make this from my beading supplies for about 50 cents, tops. To sell it for $18.00 when it takes about 90 seconds to make is sacrilegious.

Need multi-pack, 3 or 4 for price and offered in one color option for all, or a variety of colors for the pack.
