- the maker
Inspired by the concept of pillows as blank canvases, art history buff and textiles expert Heather Shaw set off on a crafty journey around 1995--and continues exploring her zeal for art and design with her whimsical line of embroidered pillows.
Inspired by natural materials, simple lines and soothing palettes, Shaw first explored stenciling and screen-printing motifs onto organic fabrics, finishing each piece with striking silhouettes of original embroidery. Since becoming a mother and an aunt, Shaw has integrated playful motifs and iconic childhood images into her work.
Shaw graduated with a degree in Textiles from art school in her native region of eastern Canada, where she currently handcrafts every whimsical pillow with care from the creative bunker of her home studio in Toronto. collection
