This is my favorite teacup

I use this every single day. It is not the easiest to clean, but the time is worth it.

Cute gift

Just don't flll too much or tip too much because the tea leaves might overflow. Once my mom made these adjustments she says they work perfectly.

this is a great cup

It's honestly a great cup for tea. Cleverly designed and steeps tea very well. don't forget the bottom isn't flat and you'll be drinking tea like a champ

Inventive, unique tea cup

Great for hot tea. Holds heat well and has a large capacity. Easy to use with tea bags. A bit more challenging with loose tea.

Great idea

My wife loves the product. Only challenge is getting used to the way it tips. She's had it spill a few times as she's set it down after drinking and accidentally spilled it forgetting about the way it tips, usually when full after first few sips.

Great gift

This is a great gift for the tea lover.

Finally a perfect teacup for office use!

Easily Bree tea then tip cup to stop the brewing process! perfect! no messy teabag to drop across desk to a trash can or leaving in your cup to brew longer than you'd like!

Cool product

This tea cup is very easy to use and very functional! It has a great design to it that my boyfriend really likes. The only thing he didn't like is that it doesn't keep the tea warm that long. Other than that it's great!

Works great!

I got two of this product for my mother. Somehow she always breaks the top part of her teapot. And for awhile she was using mismatching set. I found this product and now she doesn't have to worry about breaking the top. The only complaint is that the volume is too much, but she splits it between her and my father and solved that problem.

Love this teacup!

Apologies if I've missed it, but exactly how many ounces does the cup hold? Other cups like this on the market barely hold 8oz. Thank You!

Verified reply from Alice

This cup has a capacity of 8oz.

In the story it states "dishwasher safe", "not microwave safe" and in the details it states "microwave safe", "not dishwasher safe". I assume it is not microwave safe and dishwasher safe. Please verify.

Verified reply from Marisa

Thanks for catching that error! We had it reversed in our Details. This is dishwasher safe, but not microwave safe. We've updated our description.

Has the problem with tea getting cold too quickly as was mentioned in some early reviews been addressed? that's sort of a deal breaker with a steeping teacup.

Verified reply from Marisa

Thanks for your question. We have not changed the design of this cup. It's not insulated, as a few reviewers mentioned, but it is on the large side, so that makes it hold heat. Everybody drinks their tea at a different rate, so what works for some won't for others. If you like to sip your brew slowly, you might prefer one of our other cups, perhaps our Cuddle Mug, for example: http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/cuddle-mug. Thanks for shopping with UncommonGoods!

Is the plastic BPA-free?

Verified reply from Marisa

Yes. Our Tipping Teacup is made of SAN (thermo resistant food grade plastic), which is BPA-free. Thanks for your question!

can this also be used for coffee?

Verified reply from Marisa

Good question, thanks. Our Tipping Teacup is not meant for coffee. Since coffee is made by extraction or percolation, the coffee won't taste good if you make it by just soaking coffee in the cup.  But some teas can get close to coffee taste by choosing the right tea.

Is the cup itself microwavable if you remove the screen first?

Verified reply from Cassie, Community Moderator

Although the Tipping Teacup is made from thermo resistant food grade plastic, we don't recommend microwaving it, even when the screen is removed. The cup works best when you place loose leaf tea in the small compartment and pour hot water (from a teapot or that has been heated in the microwave in another container) directly over it.

Are these available in Australia?

Thanks for asking Danielle! Unfortunately, we're not offering international shipping at this time.

I attempted to put one in my cart literally 20 seconds after getting your restocked email and it failed. How fast do I have to be?!

This happened to me, too, but I tried it again after a few minutes, and it worked.

I got an e-mail saying these were back in stock, but I cannot select a quantity. Is this a site glitch or are they already out of stock again?

Verified reply from Cassie, Community Moderator

We're glad that you're excited about the Tipping Teacup! Unfortunately, our latest shipment has already sold out. We don't know just when the next shipment will be arriving, but we'll update the product page with some more information as soon as we do.

The item description says the cup is made out of food grade plastic...can you tell me what the removable mesh is made out of? Is it stainless? Or some other kind of metal? Thanks!

Verified reply from Marisa, Assistant community moderator

Good question! The removable filter is made from a stainless steel plate.
