Small Wonder
Like a fairy ring of mushrooms that appears overnight, this enchanting little dish will bring a touch of magic to the familiar landscape of your home. It's handsculpted and painted by ceramicist Tasha McKelvey, who creates the ridged details in the bowl's surface by pressing her stoneware clay against a piece of wood from a 100-year-old barn. You can slip a ring around the red-capped mushroom, and use the dish to hold your jewelry by your sink or nightstand.Handmade in Richmond, Virginia.

Artist Tasha McKelvey won our Uncommon Ceramics Design Challenge with her Birdie Mini Dish. We loved her design so much, we couldn't wait to see more of her work! Would you store your favorite ring in this handmade dish?

Thanks for the feedback, Elizabeth! We're thinking the mushroom might look nice in red. Does that change your vote?

I agree with previous commenters; this doesn't actually look like a mushroom. If it did, it would be adorable and I would definitely want it. But when the picture first came up, before I read the description or name of it, my first reaction was "...what is that?!"

Mushroom decor reminds me of the '70s, and not the good parts of the '70s.

Interesting. Passable for some. Not my personal style to actually have in my home. Maybe for use in the kitchen or garden. But that's just me.

Thanks for the question, Mikkie. The mushroom is "growing" from the middle of the dish. You can see an alternate view by clicking on the left thumbnail under the main image.

This doesn't look like a mushroom to me. And it looks like something I would have made in art class in high school.

Looks a lot like something other then a mushroom. More erotic then magic

An upside-down mushroom that looks like it was made in Pottery 101... why?

The design/idea is kinda neat but I wouldn't purchase it. I think it would look better with a white top instead of blue.
