Get The Fever

Whatever the weather, LeeAnn Herreid's Thermoscope Earrings will always look cool. Fully functional, these sterling silver thermoscope earrings, like thermometers, register temperature changes with red (mercury-free) alcohol that rises and falls, but they do not show numerical values. These earrings are waterproof and great fun while hiking, sunbathing or showering.

LeeAnn Herreid

During high school in Concord, Massachusetts, LeeAnn Herreid's art teacher recognized her talent and fascination with metalwork and volunteered her time and torch to teach LeeAnn how to solder metal. As she progressed through high school, LeeAnn worked as a goldsmith in an antique repair and restoration shop.

After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, LeeAnn moved to Maine for a few years and gained experience working with 18-carat gold, platinum and diamonds. She moved back to Rhode Island and began working in Newport, where her business flourished. She chose the name Individual Icons to embody the notion that the wearer should find personal expression and functionality in her pieces. Her compass jewelry, for example, is more than just decorative; it helps people find their way.

Four years later, LeeAnn relocated her business to Santa Fe, New Mexico and absorbed inspiration from the different culture, topography and climate. Yet in another four years, she decided to return to New England, and settled in a seaside town in Rhode Island. collection
