Just add dirt! Cultivate your green thumb with this kit that has all the seeds and instructions you need to grow fresh and tasty herbs in a sunny window year-round. Start seedlings in your choice of recycled container (any size or material will do), and with a little nurturing, nature will reward you with a scrumptious assortment of homegrown herbs. This kit includes seeds for ten fragrant herbs, including dill, basil, mint, sage, marjoram, oregano, thyme, arugula, flat, & curly parsley. (Approximately 100 seeds for each herb are included.) For fledgling gardeners, instruction cards are included for each herb to help develop your knowledge of planting, care and harvesting practices. This kit also comes with pre-labeled, wooden garden markers for each herb.
Assembled and printed in Poughkeepsie, NY by disabled adults at a nonprofit workshop.
The cardboard insert is made of a minimum 60% post-consumer recycled corrugated, and the cards are printed on FSC-certified, 100% recycled paper.

Thanks for the feedback, Christine! These kits are printed and assembled as part of a job creation program for disabled adults at a non-profit workshop. The price not only factors in the cost of materials, but also ensures that the people who make these kits are given a fair wage.

Personally, I think the price is right. I have seen similar kits for twice this amount just because the herbs were given a theme, e.g., Italian. As a NY apt dweller, this would be perfect for me and I appreciate the earlier comment about stocking stuffers - great idea!

I think this is a great way to get someone new to gardening started. Heck, I'd even buy one for me with all those different herbs! And I love that it's putting disabled adults to work, I work in a field that works with groups like that and it means to much to the people to know that they're still needed and can be a functioning part of society.
