Karyn Cantor

A love of fashion and art from the 1920s through the 1950s, mixed with a strong post-industrial aesthetic, is the impetus for Karyn Cantor's accessories that reflects today's sense of individuality. Fun, forward and functional, her cutting edge products balance clean lines and sturdy construction to create a refined, sophisticated, romantic style. Every handcrafted piece is designed with exuberance and often reflects her wry sense of humor.

Making and selling jewelry as a teenager was the precursor to Karyn's passion. She further impelled her artistic/creative side by studying photography and sculpture both at Rutgers University and San Francisco University, graduating in 1992 with a degree in photography.

Shortly after, she started working for a photographer and then worked as an art teacher with middle school children in the Bay Area, inspiring creative and individual thinking. Comfortable in the teaching role, Karyn also taught photography, jewelry and metal art, video production and history of rock 'n' roll.

Karyn's own sculpture and photography work have appeared in over a dozen gallery shows, and she has had her photography published in several music magazines. Her display of talent can currently be viewed at various boutiques and stores worldwide.

When she is not working on her newest accessory piece, Karyn enjoys live music shows, swing dancing, perusing flea markets and discovering vintage finds.
