Time to Come Clean
Let's dish on grimy sponges. They do wonders for scrubbing pots and pans, but once they've sat around in their own puddles they're not so clean anymore. How do you help them not only stay dry and clean, but also look good doing so?
That was the challenge given by a family friend to husband and wife ceramicists Karen and Stephen Steininger. Their answer was this ingenious, stoneware sponge holder. Its handcrafted, goblet-like form and swirling decoration applied to its front make it a beautiful addition to your countertop. The vertical cut-out in its sides keeps both broad sides of the sponge exposed to circulating air for faster evaporation, and holds it up out of any water that accumulates below. Handmade in Altoona, Iowa.
Due to the handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.
