In 1970, Milton Schultz, an avid stamp collector, transformed part of his collection into an awe-inspiring map of the United States. 40 years later, Kevin Peskin, a self-taught artist based in Georgia, revitalized his grandfather's work by reproducing it in rich ink on frame-worthy 80lb paper.
This complex art print, representing all 50 states, is made with over 300 vintage stamps, many of which debuted as commemorative pieces and were discontinued soon after. In this beautiful artwork, these rare stamps, which date from 1926 to 1969, have been preserved for the next generation. It was the artist's goal to bring together his passion for art, stamps, history, and old maps, while sharing his grandfather's creation with the world.
The parchment background along with the hand-drawn longitude and latitude lines give the map print its vintage look, while the Satin Aqueous coating promises to preserve the rich color and detail for years to come. Made in Atlanta, Georgia.
