The Best Resort

You may not be rocking by the fire with hot cocoa in Aspen or Vail, but who needs a ski lodge when you have great seating in your own home? Handmade from recycled snow skis and dense, unfinished Canadian white cedar by Massachusetts artist Mike Bellino, the "Chair Man of the Boards". Bellino lets wood to undergo a natural finishing process called "checking," which creates naturally-occuring cracks that do not compromise the integrity of the wood.

Available in Adult and Child size. Sold separately.

Only ground shipping is available for these items. Handmade in Massachusetts. Some assembly required. Cover if left outside. Unfinished cedar will patina and weather if left out in the elements, which is the artist's intention. If you prefer to keep the chair as is, treat it with a polyurethane finish or wood stain.

Due to the handmade and recycled nature of these items, each is one-of-a-kind and will vary slightly.

Michael Bellino

Michael Bellino started making SkiChairs back in 1993 after purchasing a house on a lake and building an enormous dock that needed furniture.

Looking for an alternative to plastic patio furniture, he found inspiration in O'Neils Bike and Ski Shop, which he managed. Two weeks and two prototypes later, he created the first SkiChair with his old racing and bump skis. Michael says he's still sitting in that original chair today! See all creations.
