Artist Colleen Attara draws upon the world around her to create her one-of-a-kind artwork.

Inspired by her need to find time to relax and just enjoy the moment, she's created this peek into a calming inner world - a richly colored, inviting room full of good books and comfy chairs, with spindly flowers twining around the window frame outside.

Attara also draws the material of her work from her environment. The shabby chic frame is made from window scrap. The background wallpaper is painted on scrap Plexiglass, while the rest of the room's interior is made from glass with layers of paint on the front and back. The brightly colored flowers are snipped from discarded plastic. Handmade in Pennsylvania.
