science project pillowsby Heather Lins
- the story
Sleeping through science class would have been a lot more educational with one of these pillows!
With style, smarts and an unexpected sense of humor, Heather Lins' Science Project Pillows evoke vintage textbooks and typography. On a background of soft, black wool felt, the boldly colored Sensuede applique uses some science of its own: it's a recycled polyester, made from post-consumer and post-industrial sources (including soda and water bottles).
So curl up on your sofa with a comfy bit of Botany, Anatomy or Geology, and see if that whole "learning by osmosis" theory works. Handmade in Virginia (applique cutting and fusing) and Illinois (top stitching and sewing), using imported fabric.
Unfortunately, this item cannot ship outside of the United States at this time.

- the maker
Trained as a graphic designer, Heather Lins turned off her computer and got her hands dirty in the screen printing studio. Each artful gift and home accessory is a little different - reflecting the hand of the artisan who made it.
Heather's inspiration comes from often-overlooked, everyday objects. Through examination and refinement, the ordinary becomes unexpected, contemporary design.
