Come, Fly With Me
Teenage artist and naturalist Olivia Bouler invites you to have a high-flying adventure with her, as she continues her mission to help protect America's wild birds.
In this game for young and old, players take on the role of one of six different indigenous birds. Your goal is to lead your bird across the country and back to its own natural habitat while avoiding predators and environmental hazards, and looking for food and other resources along the way. The vibrant game board, featuring some of Bouler's beautiful illustrations, is printed on durable canvas, so that it can be rolled up and carried when traveling or camping. Every component of the game is made using recycled materials.
Bouler was a careful observer of birds from childhood, and in 2010 when she heard about the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, she knew she had to do something to help. She produce 500 original bird paintings, and auctioned them through the Audubon Society. Her determination to help won international attention, and her auction ended up raising $200,000 to help save the Gulf's birdlife. This game, developed as part of the Gryphon Design Collective, is just one of the ways Bouler is continuing her work to support birds, with a portion of the proceeds from the game going to benefit the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Made in Boston, Massachusetts.
