Production of this handmade Spanish pottery is a family affair. The Cruz family of Toledo is recognized for incorporating traditional “Castilla la Mancha” ceramic patterns with their own original designs and colors. Every piece begins its life on the potter's wheel of Emilio Cruz, the family's master potter and patriarch. Four Cruz artisans paint them, each with their own style, and then Emilio, his two sisters, and their in-laws work together to glaze and fire them. Since every piece is hand shaped and hand painted with a brush, there is no way to rush the creative process and no two Cruz ceramic pitchers will be the same. These pieces of Castilian artistry are completely handcrafted, one at a time, and are personally signed by the Cruz family.
