Desert Flame

Give the backyard tiki torch a kick of Southwestern heat with this sculptural saguaro. Metal artists Richard Turner and Eric Carroll are based in Kansas, but love the beauty of the desert and wanted to find a way to enjoy that natural beauty no matter where they live. They turned to their metalworking shop to create the familiar contours of the majestic saguaro cactus.

Made from galvanized steel, this backyard saguaro is a full five feet tall and mounts to your patio or concrete pad for stability. A verdigris coloring gives the steel a natural look that is enhanced as weathering over time gives it a deeper patina in its ridges. Rather than being crowned with white cactus flowers, the center column and both arms are topped with fire. Three standard canisters of torch fuel are needed, and can be easily replaced. The saguaro can be made additionally dramatic at night by adding outdoor lighting (not included) to its hollow interior, giving it a brilliant, illuminated silhouette. Handmade in Kansas.
