Missouri artist Amy Meya begins each piece by pressing handmade rolling pins into fresh clay to emboss layers of mesmerizing texture. Amy Meya

Primarily a self-taught ceramic artist, Amy Meya fell in love with clay when she was in middle school, and has been working in it ever since. Her education includes living and working in the Netherlands for five years, extensive travel throughout Europe (she speaks Dutch and French!) and limited formal education through the KC Art Institute and Longview Community College. "My favorite thing about being an artist is daydreaming all day long and getting dirty," she says. See all creations.
